Resin analyses for estimating the remaining service life

Not every type of resin ages the same! So when should I expect a decrease in the performance of my ion exchangers? Our laboratory provides you with clear information and figures on when you should expect a decrease in performance. You will receive information on possible measures to extend the service life. If your resin has reached the end of its service life (soon), you can plan a resin change in a time- and cost-optimised way. You thus achieve a high level of operational and planning reliability. Each analysis result is commented and classified by us so that you receive a clear recommendation for action.

Resin analyses for estimating the remaining service life can usually be carried out within a few days. Advice on optimal sampling can be downloaded here (link to: pdf download from EnviBase “Method for resin sampling”).

Our standard analysis packages contain a selection of meaningful methods that we can use to make a statement about the residual life of the respective samples:

  • Microscopic examination to assess the mechanical condition of the resin: Does the resin have cracks or is there even already an increased amount of breakage? Does the sample contain unusual foreign matter that could lead to increased pressure loss? Are the beads covered by precipitation?
  • Determination of the total capacities: How many functional groups are still present compared to the new condition? Does an unusual water content indicate organic contamination? Does the resin show de-cross-linking damage?
  • Kinetic properties via dye test: How good is the pore accessibility of the resin compared to the new state? Is there contamination with ionic large organic molecules?

Simply fill out our questionnaire resin analysis (link to: pdf download “Fragebogen-Harzanalyse.pdf”) and enclose it with the sample shipment. Here you have the possibility to describe details about the samples and background information about the type of plant in a time-saving way. You can find our price list here (link to: pdf Download Price List HU). Of course, we are also happy to discuss the selection of suitable analyses in advance by telephone  or by e-mail  and send you an individual offer.

We are also happy to advise you on planned refilling of individual stages or redesigning your ion exchanger system .

To get an idea of our informative analysis reports, you can download a sample report here .

We are looking forward to your samples!

Resin analyses for troubleshooting

Is your ion exchanger system not running smoothly? Unusual outflow values, shortened loading cycles or increased pressure loss – we will find out for you whether this is due to the resin.

Our resin analyses for troubleshooting help you find the problem and can save you a lot of trouble. Tell us about your problem and the conditions in your system and together we will put together a selection of target-oriented analyses.

In addition to the standard analysis package, which is usually carried out for a normal condition assessment, we can offer you a wide range of tried and tested special methods that make troubleshooting much easier. Resin analyses for troubleshooting are thus a versatile addition to our resin analyses for estimating the remaining service life.

Take advantage of our extensive experience with ion exchange systems and resins of all kinds instead of poking around in the dark for a long time.

You will receive a summary of each analysis report with clear recommendations for action. Our comprehensive database of results from thousands of operating samples and reference measurements enables you to classify your results precisely.

Simply fill out our questionnaire resin analysis  and enclose it with the sample shipment.

The problem is not the resin? Our Engineering and Consulting Team will help you to find and eliminate process-related causes.

Incoming inspection for new filling

Are you planning to refill your ion exchanger system? We will store your ion exchanger retain samples professionally and advise you on sampling and suitable incoming control tests.

Professionally taken and stored reserve samples are helpful

  • as a reference for future troubleshooting analyses
  • as proof of the initial condition upon delivery
  • as a reference for future analyses to predict remaining service life
  • for incoming goods inspection BEFORE refilling

Are you interested in our retain sample service? We will be happy to advise you!

Simply fill out our return sample form  and enclose it with the sample shipment. Here you have the possibility to give details about the samples and background information about the type of plant in a time-saving way. You can find our price list here .
